Spend me

This coin is part of the project ‘Touche-à-Tout’ by the Dutch artist Doina Kraal. The coin is no legal tender, however it does represent a value of approximately USD 150, or EUR 120. This nominal value is guaranteed by the Art Reserve Bank, The Netherlands, which has issued the currency.

During her journey around the world in 2015, Kraal will bring five identical coins into circulation, each one on a different continent. You are invited to take part in this experiment, which will be registered online.

Within one week of receiving, please spend the coin on something that represents a similar value to you. Next, take a photo of your acquisition. By scanning the QR code visible on the coin, you’ll be directed to a website where you can upload your photo. The image will then become part of a series, that will track the circulation of the coin on your continent. The expanding library of content of the ‘Touche-à-Tout’ project as a whole is visible online at www.touche-a-tout.nl. Eventually it will be presented in a book, late 2015.

Esta moneda es parte del proyecto ‘Touche-à-Tout’ de la artista Holandesa Doina Kraal, esta moneda no es de uso legal, sin embargo representa un valor aproximado de 150 USD, o 120 EUR. Este valor nominal esta garantizado por the Art Reserve Bank, de Holanda, quienes han emitido la moneda.

Durante su viaje alrededor del mundo en el 2015, Kraal ha puesto cinco monedas idénticas en circulación, cada una en un continente diferente. Usted esta invitado a ser parte de este experimento, el cual sera registrado en linea. 

Por favor use la moneda en algo que represente un valor similar para usted,  esto durante la primera semana después de recibir la moneda. Después, tome una foto de su adquisición, y al escanear el QR code visible en la moneda, sera redireccionado al website donde podrá subir su foto. La imagen sera parte de una serie, que rastreara la circulación de la moneda en su continente. La biblioteca expandida con el contenido del proyecto ‘Touche-à-Tout’ es visible en su totalidad en línea www.touche-a-tout.nl. Finalmente se presentará en un libro, a finales de 2015.
